Your Real Estate Blog: The Ultimate Resource
When you think of your blog, do you see it as a weekly task or as an information hub? Unfortunately, I would guess that there are a lot of real estate professionals who see blogging as another task that I need to stack on my list of to-do’s.
If you do, then you need a paradigm shift, and realize that your blog should be the ultimate real estate resource. We already know that 87% of home transactions begin online, and I guarantee in your area that there are thousands upon thousands of potential home buyers and sellers spending a good amount of time looking for real estate information every single day. A lot of times people aren’t just looking at homes either, they are educating themselves about the market in your local area by watching short video clips and by reading news articles and blog posts. One of the best ways to establish yourself as an expert, is to share your knowledge of your local market and general real estate questions. Think of questions that you get asked on a daily basis and write a blog post in response to those questions.
Once you get a number of these on your blog, you have built some real value into your site. How easy is it to then refer to your blog in a casual conversation? You get a phone call or you’re just chatting with someone, and it is so simple to say, “That’s a great question…I’ve actually written about [the question] on my blog. You should check it out, here’s the address…”
You first need to realize that your blog has the potential to be the ultimate resource for real estate in your local area. Once you grasp that vision, your next step is to begin to provide the valuable information to make it as such.
I’ll continue to talk about building this value in my upcoming blog posts. Please feel free to add any comments or ask any questions and I’ll be sure to get them answered.
