Other factors that should motivate buyers.

Low Mortgage rates.  If the Federal Reserve stops buying mortgage-backed securities at the end of March, 30-year rates will almost certainly rise to more than 6 percent.

Rising prices.  About 30 percent of markets are already experiencing price increases. Prices are falling in 12 percent of markets, says Fiserv (but that only helps if you want to live there).

It means the housing market is steady in Weber County and Northern Davis County.  Homes are selling because buyers are interested in living in Ogden and surrounding areas.   With the tax credits for first-time home buyers up to $8000 and up to $6500 for buyers chosing to move-up, it is a great time to buy and sell.   Don’t forget you’ll need a binding sales contract signed by April 30, 2010 and a home purchase completed by June 30, 2010 to qualify.  Please don’t let the time frames bother you–there is still enough time.

Where the ____ is Punta Gorda?

You may have never heard of Punta Gorda, Florida.  This picturesque Gulf Coast area of southwest Florida was a well kept secret for years.  It lies on a point of land extending out into Charlotte Harbor thereby its name “Punta Gorda”.  A liberal translation being Spanish for a “Fat Point” of land.  Punta Gorda is about 100 miles south of Tampa/ Saint Petersburg and 20 miles north of Fort Myers.  It is where Charlotte Harbor and the Peace River meet.

 Now that you know where it is you might like to know how it came to be a wonderful waterfront home location with  miles of concrete walled canals that are at least 100 ft. wide.

 In the late 1950s three young entrepreneurs, back from the war, having their first success on smaller projects in the Miami area decided to visit Punta Gorda.  In 1962 they had built canals and sold 136 homes.  The area continued to expand and in 1972 had grown to 976 waterfront homes.  At the present time there are approximately 4,800 homes and condominiums in Punta Gorda Isles.  There are approximately 1,500 vacant properties privately owned that will ultimately have homes built on them.

 In addition to waterfront properties, homes, condominiums, vacant lots and acreage available.  A number of these are on or near both public and private golf courses.  Some are in gated communities.

What an amazing day it was on Tuesday March 9  with the kick-off of the Adams School Garden!

The Center for Sustainability at SBCC has partnered with the Orfalea Fund’s s’Cool Food Initiative to spearhead the s’Cool Garden program – the mission, simply stated, is to connect students to their food and their environment  through school gardens.

With the help of many volunteers from the community, including Realtors from Prudential CA Realty, many of the tasks necessary to build the garden were easily completed:  building a compost bin, building and filling the raised vegetable bins with soil and mulch, planting vegetables and other plants in containers created by the students.    All of the classes at Adams had the opportunity to work in the garden and rotate through the various work stations.

Another place to look for a great high rise home would be Washoe Way. The homes on Washoe Way tend to be a bit more expensive, but people who live there tend to rave about how great the neighborhood is. They are also extremely happy about the overall great structural quality of the homes. If you can find a quality home in a great place like Henderson, you will never consider even leaving. Henderson has plenty of high rise homes that also contain options such as swimming pools and tennis courts. These items can be good for recreation. These items can also be good for your health.

The truth of the matter is that high rise real estate in Henderson, Nevada would be a great investment for someone who happens to be a wealthy Los Angeles based real estate investor for example. The Los Angeles real estate investor would consider whatever they found in Henderson to be a real steal.
