It looks like the Broadway Bridge is about to re-open this weekend. The bridge was slated to be closed through September 3rd, and I wanted to know what would be open on the 4th. I was hoping that work on the bridge would be wrapping up and that all lanes would be open for traffic. I checked on portlandstreetcar.org and that isn’t going to be the case. From September 4th 2010 until June 30th 2011 (!!!) this is what we can expect:
September 4, 2010 – June 30, 2011 – Broadway Bridge construction
- Expect lane closures with one lane in each direction maintained.
- The bridge will have a height limitation of 12’0” as well as narrowed lanes.
- The #9 bus will be re-routed across the Steel Bridge during this work.
- RV’s and large vehicles should detour because of narrow lanes.
- Bicycle and pedestrian access will be maintained on the south sidewalk, please use caution in work zones.
- The north sidewalk will reopen September 17, 2010.
