Belief + Determination = Success

Sunday, January 2nd, 2011

Now that the dust is settling on 2010, it’s time to turn our thoughts back to the future – not the one that seems to be relentlessly painted by the media, but our futures, the ones we generate from the inside. Because we are all unique, not a statistic generated by – who knows. Each of our needs are unique. So, whether you have grown out of a home or desire to downsize, relocate, invest, or you need to just step out of that reality for awhile and regroup, I am here to help.

The greatest thing about America is that we never take “no” for an answer. Even in the hardest of times we get up, dust ourselves off, and keep pursuing our dreams.  I am your total advocate for change. Together we can build belief with information, join forces and act with determination, and succeed in making your 2011 the best new year ever!

Happy New Year…

Friday, December 31st, 2010

In the dictionary, resolution is defined as “the mental state or quality of being resolved or resolute; firmness of purpose.”  Things in life happen when you become resolved. There is no time like the present to resolve to buy that new home you’ve always wanted; As I listen tonight to the fireworks on the beach, ringing in the new year next to a warm fire with good friends and family, I can think of no better place to enjoy life than Redondo Beach, California.

Here’s a list of links to show you a few of the things happening in Redondo this weekend. Have a happy and safe new year! And come on down to Redondo and let me show you why people love this place so much…

Homeownership

Wednesday, October 6th, 2010

Many have expressed deep concern over the persistent published negativity related to homeownership.  Timemagazine states that “homeowership has let us down”.  Robert Samuelson, columnist for the Washington Post and Newsweek, states “The relentless promotion of homeownership as the embodiment of the American dream has outlived its usefulness.”  Fortune magazine speaks to the “rise of the renting class.”

It’s predictable that we see press of this nature in this uncertain economy.  Their opening salvos are not unfounded.  Too many home buyers got in over their heads by purchasing a home they simply couldn’t afford, or by using their home equity to finance a lifestyle they couldn’t sustain.  Other buyers were victimized by predatory lending practices or job cuts.

Where I differ with these writers is in their diminishment of the value of owning a home.  Owning a home has long been a key component of the American dream.  It will continue to be long after the current economic uncertainty has passed.  Homeownership is the dream of people everywhere!  To have our own home is to have a safe place for ourselves and our childeren.  It’s the place where we celebrate our birthdays, holidays and welcome friends.

Research has consistently shown the long-term benefits of  homeownership to our communities and nation … positive correlation with self-esteem, educational achievement, civic participation, and crime prevention.

We need to unite and create a vision for a new American dream – one that is founded by responsible, long-term homeownership as a means of achieving social and financial well-being.
