Current Housing Market Conditions

Thursday, April 30th, 2009

We are very happy to say that the busy spring market in Philadelphia is upon us! Considering the current economic conditions of our nation and the rest of the world, we were not sure how this year would be…. We do know that some values have fallen, especially for higher priced properties, but there is a lot of good news in our current Philadelphia housing market!

If you are interested in buying this year you will be able to take advantage of 5% or lower interest rates, competitively priced Philadelphia homes, and possibly the $8,000 tax credit toward your federal income tax. You will want to talk with an accountant to verify eligibility for the tax credit. If you are thinking of selling, the spring is the time to do it! Buyer activity has increased in the past few weeks with longer days and warmer weather. The average days on the market for homes for sale in our area are still less than 75 days, which in itself is a sign of a stable market. If you have any questions about the current housing market in Philadelphia please give us a call anytime!

Market Recap

  • Avg. Sales Price: $350,00.00

  • Avg. Days on Market: 85
