September is a busy month in Pensacola. The Seafood Festival begins September 25th and runs through the 27th. The ultimate in mouthwatering delicacies from the Gulf will be the “star” of this annual event. This is the 32nd year. The cost? FREE entry. Downtown will be filled with families taking in not only the food but the views of Pensacola Bay, historic sites, local and national vendors will be proudly displaying their talents whether it be paintings, jewelry, T-shirts, originality prevails. A 5k run is scheduled for the 26th. Each year the crowds increase as word spreads as to the fun, food and fun filled times visitors and locals alike experience.

If you love wildlife and parks, stop by Big Lagoon State Park on Gulf Beach Hwy located between the Pensacola Naval Air Station and Perdido Key on the 19th of September for the Wet and Wild Festival – a free family day. Learn about the importance of saving the Sea Turtle Eggs and, once hatched, helping the “little ones” make it safely to the water, saving them from natural predators. Instructors are also scheduled to be available for free kayak lessons and safety issues, The scheduled hours are from 8:00 in the morning until 5:30 in the afternoon. Hungry after a hectic day? A short drive to Perdido Key minutes away will have relaxing dining awaiting whether it be Mexican, Italian or various types of Seafood. Whatever you choose, enjoy!
