We are so fortunate here to have such a wonderful friendly community. As in many other Mercer Island neighborhoods, our neighborhood has great summer block parties and it’s so much fun to get together! It is one of the many advantages of living here on our great Island.
We attended the Sunday Farmer’s Market last week and bought some delicious fruit and vegetables. It will be going all summer from 11:00 – 3:00 every Sunday. Our great “Summer Celebration” will be held July 9th through July 11th with our wonderful parade, and fireworks, on Saturday the 10th. We’ll be celebrating Mercer Island’s 50th birthday as a city! | Travel through time as we celebrate the best parts of popular decades past at Summer Celebration! 2010. Break out those bellbottoms, bust a move with some disco groove, grow some Elvis sideburns, tie on your saddle shoes or dig out your acid wash jeans…we are in for a blast from the past! The City is celebrating its 50th birthday this year so watch for some rollback fun from our incorporation year of 1960. Can you believe it has been 20 years for Summer Celebration! Festivals? 2010 marks our 20th Anniversary….hooray for Summer Celebration! FIREWORKS on Saturday, July 10th. Join us for a special “Happy 50th Birthday Mercer Island” fireworks show.
