The economy has battered many homeowners, but like a palm tree in a hurricane properties worth $1 million and more have weathered the storm.
In April, buyers snapped up high-end homes increasing sales year-over-year by 47.1% reports National Association of Realtors.
Homes in the lower price ranges also saw increases, but not as impressive of a rise when comparing April 2009 sales to April 2010 sales.

In Miami-Dade County home sales increase year-over-year by 147%. In Broward County the increase was 85% in the same time period.
