Mid-Year PGI Market Update
Single family home sales in Punta Gorda Isles are up over 30% YTD through June 7, 2010, compared to the same period in 2009. In 2010, 95 homes sold through June 7th, compared to 64 in 2009. The median price in 2009 was $353,000 compared to $320,000 thus far in 2010 – a decrease of around 9%.
Condo sales show greater increases, with 95 sold through 6/7/10 compared to 57 in 2009 – an increase of over 65%. Condo median price for all of 2009 was $150K vs. $170K in 2010 – a 13% increase.
As the Gulf Oil Spill Disaster looms out there things may become uncertain for a while. It appears that the Florida economy, including real estate, is slowing down as the world watches what is happening in the Gulf.
