The most fun part of our annual “Operation: One Warm Coat” drive is actually delivering the goods to a local service organization that can see to it that the donated coats get into the hands of those who need them.
Friends, neighbors, past clients and even complete strangers dropped more than 30 gently used coats off on my court on Sunday as part of Coldwell Banker’s annual Operation: One Warm Coat drive.
While the official drop-off is over, I am still offering doorstep pickup service to anyone in the Almaden, Blossom Valley, Cambrian and Willow Glen areas who wish to donate warm garments to those who need them more in San Jose. (Yes, for those of you reading this in the Midwest and East, it frequently does get down into the 30s at night here during the winter months, and if you’re on the street, that’s plenty cold.)
I will be delivering these coats on Thursday to the Sacred Heart Community Service organization, which will see to it that they get to the people who need them most. Thanks everyone, for literally sharing the warmth of this holiday season!
Operation: One Warm Coat is officially under way. Each holiday season, I team up with Coldwell Banker to collect gently used coats and sweaters to be distributed to those in the community who need them more than we do. Here’s a short video explaining how you can help.
