I read today’s “My Realtor Party News” email and was happy to see that Idaho had two of the eight “Success Stories”.
The first article was about my friend Jim Johnston who was re-elected to the Pocatello City Council. Jim Johnston’s name is synonymous with the Realtor Political Action Committee in Idaho so this is great recognition for him on a national level.
The second honorable mention was about the Ada County Association of Realtor’s (ACAR) success Bringing Housing Opportunities to Idaho. NAR recognized our efforts in putting together a workforce housing program, down payment assistance programs where we helped monetize the first time home buyer tax credits in conjunction with Idaho Housing and Finance Association, and training it’s members via the Employer Assisted Housing class which I taught since I was teaching that class for NAR at the time. The association also put on a housing summit which was very well received in our community.
I was glad to see the national recognition in the email blast to Realtor’s across the country so that some of our staff can see that what they are doing here in Idaho is making a difference beyond our state and is actually being noticed.
