After graduating from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, I spent the first 15 years of my working career as a free lance motion picture cinematographer.  During that period I worked on low budget feature films, sports films, and many television commercials.  Because of the nature of the business, I had a lot of free time on my hands.  I decided to get a real estate license in the hope of making extra money between film jobs.

In December of 1988, I received my license and started the next day with Coldwell Banker in Gastonia.  Since then I have had experience as a Realtor, a Licensed North Carolina Real Estate Appraiser, new construction salesman, and in 2004 I was hired to open up the local office of HMBI, Inc. which was contracted to sell and manage all the HUD homes in North and South Carolina.

Today I am the Broker-In-Charge as well as one of the leading salesmen for the Coldwell Banker Black & Whisnant Properties office in Gastonia, North Carolina. 

Because I was born, raised, and currently live in Belmont, I have specialized in both Belmont real estate and also in nearby Mount Holly, North Carolina. 

I have served on the Belmont Planning and Zoning Board, the Belmont Board of Adjustments, and two terms on the Belmont City Council.  My knowledge of Belmont properties, zoning ordinances, future developments, etc. has led many of my real estate colleagues to refer to me as “Mr. Belmont.”
