The bay area has many microclimates and that will not change, but several market forces indicate that this is going to be a busy season in real estate. The fact that foreclosure reprieve that banks put in place for the holidays is over and Facebook IPO is heating up are just two events that will effect the market. Now is the time to act!

Cash Buyers — meaning no purchase loan for the property was found in the public record — accounted for almost 31 percent of sales in February, the highest for any month since January 1988.

What does that mean to you? If you sell now you have a higher chance to get a cash buyer meaning no issues with a loan.

Fed helps the market again

The Federal Reserve announced this week they will buy an additional $600 billion of Treasuries. What that means for most of us is that the interest rates will remain low. Now is the time to buy a home if you are in the market. While we have seen some months of housing prices on the rise here in the bay area, the National Association of Realtors has concluded that is now a nationwide trend.
