Florence…It Sounds Too Good To Be True
Florence, SC is an unusual community. My wife Kerry and I started visiting Florence about 10 years ago when our oldest daughter and husband moved here to work. From our first visit in the community we were impressed, impressed to the degree that on our third visit, and with the impending birth of our first grandson, we started looking for a home in the community ourselves. Ten years later, our daughter and family moved away, we are still in Florence and love it!
Florence community does not live like a city of 31,000 or a county of 132,000 populations. When newcomers arrive and inquire about housing, the first thing on the agenda is to take about 2 hours, drive all around Florence, through its neighborhoods. Invariably people are impressed with what Florence offers.
The largest employers in the Florence community are its two, state of the art, award winning hospitals. Virtually any health care needs are provided here by top notch doctors and nurses. With the beautiful new Florence library, a new “Florence Little Theater“, a 34 million Performing Arts Center (ground breaking ceremony is January 30, 2009); the community is not waiting for something to happen. Francis Marion University and Florence – Darlington Technical College are both focused upon providing quality education in the community. A new Civic Center hosts almost weekly big ticket events, and plays host to the Florence Phantoms, of the indoor football league as well as The Florence Little Symphony. The community hosts summer baseball, it’s always fun attending a Red Wolves game. Two shopping malls, dozens of restaurants, a new state of the art 14 screen movie complex, help make living in Florence so comfortable. Florence community’s palm trees, pine trees, balmy weather, year round golf isn’t too shabby either.
If all of this sounds to good to be true, an area without traffic jams, with balmy weather, with all the benefits of big city living………just give me a call and we’ll schedule some time to take an in depth tour of Florence, SC.
