When it comes to put your house on the market one will want to get their house in the best shape possible the easiest way to do that is to the follow the 5 simple steps listed below in order to get your house ready to sell. In the trying times of the economy, it really is a buyer’s market so one must take all the preparation needed to make their house stand out from the rest.
1. Touch up paints- Are there parts of your home that may be looking a little dingy or maybe you have some paint peeling? People will notice that, so why not give your home a little touch up with some paint. Keep in mind that most people will prefer neutral colors and colors that make the home look bright and inviting.
2. Clean house- take the time to clean up and organize your home. Clutter often turns buyers away and the more open space that is available the better the house will look.
3. Clean up the outside of the home- Make sure that the outside of the home is also free of clutter and the lawn looks nice and presentable. If it is the time of year when mowing is an option, keep up on that.
4. Repair any leaks your home may have- if you have a leaky roof or anything in your home, one should look at repairing this before the house goes on the market. Keep receipts and show the buyers that the roof has been replaced
5. Perform any small repairs you find- maybe it’s a broken screen or a lock that isn’t working right, but whatever it is spend the time to fix it.
