Big Bugs @ Glenwood Gardens

Hamilton County Parks

10623 Springfield Pike

Woodlawn, OH  45215

July 16th and 17th, 2011

A towering praying mantis greets visitors as they enter the gardens.  Several enormouse ants appear to march over the hills.  A colossal dragonfly hovers above the pond.  These larger-than-life creations of David Rogers’ “Big Bugs,”  descended upon Glenwood Gardens on Saturday April 30th.

If you have not been out to see these Big Bugs then

come out the weekend of the 16th and 17th.  Joining these

creations will be the Cincinnat VW Club and the VW Bugs.

Park will open at 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday

and Sunday from 12 noon to 5 p.m.

Big Bugs features 13 anatomically and proportionately

correct, hummungous insects contructed of wood and

other natural materials.  The praying mantis, for example,

towers at 20 feet and weights in a 1,200 pounds!  (An actual

praying mantis is about two to three inches long.)  This traveling exhibit also includes

damselflies, grasshoppers and a spider in its web.

Big Bugs will include dozens of special events and programs, including a 5k bug run, concerts, nature hikes, insect Olympics and more.

Admission to Big Bugs is $7.00 for adults and $5.00 for children ages two to twelve and includes admission to the Highfield Discovery Garden.  http://greatparks.thundertix.com/

Happy 4th of July

Happy 4th of July

You have to love a nation that celebrates its

independence every July 4, not with a

parade of guns, tanks, and soldiers who file

by the White House in a show of strength

and muscle, but with family picnics where

kids throw Frisbees, the potato salad gets

iffy, and the flies die from happiness.  You

may think you have overeaten, but it is

patriotism.

Home Ownership . . . Do you want to Own Your Own Home?

10 Steps to Home Ownership in

Cincinnati, OH

1.  Are you Ready?

Knowledge and experience are the keys to successful real estate transactions.

  • Do you know what you want?  Are you moving because of a lifestyle change or is buying an option, not a requirement?  Whatever the reason is, the more you know about the real estate market, the more likely you are going to find what you want.  This is where you will want an agent that knows the market and can listen to your wants and needs.
  • Do you have the money?  There are amny programs available today that require little or no money down.  Yes, you heard me correctly.  Little or NO money down.  Of course, you must qualify for these types (all types) of loans.

2. Find a Realtor

  • Buying and selling real estate is a complex matter.

  • Your Realtor will provide you with information detailing current market conditions and financing options.

3.  The Mortgage Application

  • Few people can purchase a home for cash which means that almost all buyers require a mortgage loan.  I have a loan officer that I have partnered with that will gladly prequalify you and let you know what each step of the process is and guide you thru it.
  • Set up a meeting with a loan officer!  During the consulation you can discuss different loan programs that are available today, the current mortgage interest rates and how the loan process works.  I will also be providing you with a list of things that you will need to be bringing to that meeting so you are prepaired.

4.  Look at Homes

  • Consider your priorities and what your needs currently are and how long you intend to occupy the home.  Make a list of your house hunting criteria.  I take that information and enter the criteria into your own (username / password protected) website for your use during the home buying process.  It makes life so much easier when you have one place to go to shop, make notes, look at maps, etc.

5.  Choose a Home

  • Take your time, it is a big decision and you want to do it right!  Purchasing a home can be a very emotional experience.

  • A house is shelter but it is also where you live, relax, entertain friends, and possibly raise your family.  You want to be certain you are doing the right thing!

  • Be sure to consider the community amenities, commute to work, and the school system ratings.

6.  Secure Funding

  • Once you have decided on the home you would like to purchase, now it’s time to apply for your mortgage.  If you are looking for a quicker close, I would definitely do this during, if not before, we start looking.

  • Interest rate and loan terms can be confusing.  Make sure you receive all of the information and that you understand all of the costs associated with the loan.

7.  Make an Offer / Write a Purchase Agreement

  • A proposal to buy includes both the price and terms.  Terms are extremely important and should be reviewed carefully.

  • Your Realtor will prepare the purchase agreement and present your offer.

8.  Secure Homeowner’s Insurance

  • No homeowner should be without insurance, it protects homeowners in the event of catastrophes!

  • Mortgage compainies require a homeowners policy in order to be able to close.  When you are ready the lender will help to coordinate the proper wording that shoudl appear on your policy, that states who the lender is.

9.  Your Closing — Preparing the Paperwork

  • All of the necessary paperwork needs to be signed to complete the trasaction.

  • The closing is usually held at the title company and conducted by the closing agent of the title company being used.  I will help to coordinate the closing time to make sure all parties can attend.

  • Coordinate the move in date and transfer of keys and utilities into your name.

10.  Last but not least — You have done it!

  • Congratulations!

Freddie Mac . . . And Their Thoughts on Todays Market.

Posted by Cindy Enderle | on Saturday, July 2nd, 2011 at 8:22 am

An Article to Read . . . Better Days

Ahead in  Housing

This, if holds true, is worth jumping up and down about.

Many in the Real Estate Biz have been waiting for this news.  I am one of them.

I do know just from my own experience that if manufacturing starts to pick up that the real estate market will do so a few months later.  This is what I have seen to be true over the last few months as far as manufacturing is concerned.  Let us all keep our fingers crossed that what we are reading below will hold true and that the market will begin to turn for the better.

Daily Real Estate News  |  June 28, 2011  |   Share

Freddie Mac’s chief economist is optimistic that the housing market and economy will improve in the second half of 2011.

Freddie Mac Chief Economist Frank Nothaft said mortgage rates will likely remain historical lows of between 4.5 percent and 5 percent for the remainder of the year. Also, he expects more buyers to stop waiting on the sidelines as recent price drops in home prices have improved affordability.

Nothaft said consumers’ uncertainty about the economy has caused them to delay home purchases and other “big-ticket items.”

“Some potential buyers who have the means to buy are awaiting clearer signs that home values have firmed,” Nothaft says.

But Nothaft says they should be getting their signs in the second half of the year, with projected job gains, and a growing, improved economy.

“Even though near-term concerns over income and sales growth are restraining consumer spending, business hiring, and new building, a number of positive signs in the economy indicate that growth will continue and is likely to accelerate in the second half of this year,” Nothaft said. “Look for a gradual improvement in housing activity in the coming year.”

Melaleuca . . . A Plant & Food Based Way to Clean!

Posted by Cindy Enderle | on Wednesday, June 29th, 2011 at 11:35 pm
Category: Health & Wellness.

Melaleuca . . .

For Your Health & Wellness!

I have come across this great company that is helping the

world go Green one family at a time.

I have asthma.  Everytime I open (past tense) opened a bottle of cleaning fluid, did the laundry

or tried to clean a spot on the carpet, I felt like my lungs were compressing.

I startied researching to find out what I could use that would be lung  friendly,  family friendly,

and still get the job done.  Melaleuca is a company  that I came across about a year ago.  Started

asking questions, talking to people to see if  they have heard of the company.   Used the product.

I was surprised to find out that several people had converted and use Melaleuca’s products.

I was amazed to find out that they had such a wide variety of  Eco Friendly items to choose from.

They have been in business since 1985.  There annual sales have grown to over $900 million.  There 26 year track record of success is unmatched!

Each month, over 500,000 households shop with Melaleuca, a testament to the quality and value of Melaleuca’s products.

26 Years Ago . . . .

26 Years ago many people did not realize household cleaning products could destroy the environment and cause asthma and cancer.  Today our rivers and oceans are polluted as a result of phosphates, cleaners, chemicals and drugs that are being eliminated down our sewer systems.  Is there any surprise that cancer is at the point of being more prevalent than heart disease.

26 Years ago few people would have believed a little manufacturing company in Idaho would reach sales of almost $1 billion with close to a million squre feet of facilities while being 100 percent debt free.

26 Years ago some people thought this company was a multi-level company.  Today they realize that it is not.

26 Years ago some people thought the cost of their products was expensive.  Today some of those people can’t believe that many of their products cost the same as they did over 25 years ago.

It only makes sense to take a close look because this company’s foundation is rock solid and they are only beginning.

Some Statistics . . .

The Consumer Product Safety Commission connects 150 man made chemicals in

our home care products to Allergies, Birth Defects, Cancer, and Psychological

Abnormalities.

The E.P.A. warns toxic chemicals in household cleaners cause women working at

home to have a 55% Higher Cancer Rate than women working outside the home.

The E.P.A. Reports the nation’s worst pollution is inside our homes.  A number of

homes tested have toxic chemical levels 70 times higher inside the home than

outside.

Did you know . . .

That  some of the Beauty Bars (bath soaps) have Carcinogens in them?

Some Baby Shampoos have Formaldehyde in them?

Tooth Paste — Carcinogens

Look at the packaging on the products that you buy.

I did.  I almost fell over.

Why don’t we pay attention to these things?

I have stopped the madness and taken back

control in the things that I use.

If you are interested in learning more about this company

and their products please contact me at:

cindy_enderle@msn.com

Make sure to leave me all your contact information.

Your products will be delivered right to your door.

Go Green & Chemical Free the

Melaleuca Way!

Thanks and I look forward to hearing from you.

Cleared area.

Note:  This property is currently zoned Residential.

Would need a Zoning Change for a 4-6 Unit Commercial Office Complex to be built.

Research has been done regarding the ability to build a 4-6 Unit Structure.

I have information on the requirements for a treatment works facility sized for one hundred thousand gallons per day or less.  If you or anyone you know might be interested in this property I would be happy to share this information that I have collected.

The 4-6 Unit Commercial Office Complex would be placed on parcel 510 0230 0035 00.

See  Hamilton County Auditors Plats of the properties being discussed.

see if they would consider extending it down to Daleview and the Springdale Road parcels.
