It was a little past 1pm and I was finishing up a call on the phone when Joe came into my office saying he was going to grab a sandwich from Subway and asking if I wanted one. Subway didn’t seem that appealing. Instead, I suggested, we take a walk down Las Olas and check out the new eatery that just opened I had heard next to the Post Office. After a little persuasion to (walk in the hot sun) Joe agreed.
- My lunch
- Wine for Sale
- Eten Food Company Menu
Eten (Belgian for “to eat) was our lunch destination. The storefront was inviting. Inside it was modern, sleek and fresh. On the right was box shelves filled artistically with wine, on the left glass display cases filled with enticing food. Hmmm….I decided to try the Eten lunch box ($7.50) which included a cup of soup , 1/2 a salad (or sandwich) & an Eten treat! I love soup and good soup in South Florida is not an easy find. There were 2 choices and both Joe and I picked the leek & avocado. I also had a salmon Caesar ($ extra) and Joe had the Pesto Chicken Breast, Fresh Mozzarella, Roasted Peppers & Baby Spinach on hot Ciabatta. (He let me taste). All of the food tasted delicious, fresh, homemade and healthy. Presentation was excellent. My treat was a truffle. My weakness are truffles. It was one hell of a good truffle! (Belgian as well)…All was yummy. We took a chicken curry sandwich back to the office for Amanda who flipped it over it! How great, a new eatery walking distance from the office with delicious tasty healthy options! ETEN FOOD COMPANY, 1404 E Las Olas Blvd, 954-383-4460
