With Mother’s Day arriving in just a few days, it is time to remember last year when you had a chance to buy mom a house for mother’s day. The inventory of new homes is much lower this year & prices are up making it much more difficult to find a nice home. Last year was a much better opportunity.
Don’t make that mistake again, mom will love a home for mother’s day. Don’t miss out again. Next year is sure to bring higher prices. Save some dough & buy mom a home today.
Happy Mother’s Day!
A few More Household Tips:
JELLY FISH STINGS – Pour alcohol on area & apply meat tenderizer with a popcicle stick. Be careful not to touch the area with your hands & spread the venom.
EDIBLE PAINT – Add kool-aid to yogurt for a kid safe finger paint.
CD SCRATCHES – rub small amount of peanut butter or tooth paste on the CD.
PRSERVE NEWSPAPER CLIPPING – Large Club soda mixed with 1/2 cup Milk Of Magnesia & soak for 20 minutes then let dry. Will last for many years.
FOGGY GOGLES & GLASSES – Rub Colgate Toothpaste on them & clean with soft cloth.
STAINED CARPET – If stain is still wet, use club soda & baby diapers to absorb the spill.
WINE STAIN IN CARPET – pour salt on the spill & watch it absorb the spill.
WAX STAIN – Place a paper towel over the stain & iron it with a clothes iron.
GLASSWEAR LABELS – Peanut butter removeds the sticky well.
DIRTY GROUT – Use Listerine to clean it.
SWEAT STAINS – Efferdent or vinegar & soak.
I hope these help make your life easier. They were passed along to me & I have not tried all of them but I have heard many of them before.
Need a quick fix and/or save time & money? Try these household tips.
CRAYON MARKS ON WALLS – damp rag dipped in backing soda. be careful not to rub too hard or for too long. The Baking Soda is a mild abrasive.
WINDOW WASHING – Use vertical stokes on outside of glass & horizontal strokes on inside. Then you know which side has streaks.
SCENTED LIGHT BULBS – MAKE SURE LIGHT BULB IS NOT HOT. Spray a little perfume or cologn on a COOL light bulb. When the light is on, it will warm & give off a nice smell.
ICE CREAM CONE DRIPS – Stuff a miniture marshmallow in a cone BEFORE you add the ice cream.
POTATOES BUDDING? – Add an apple in the drawer/bag of potatoes to keep them from budding.
BAKING A CAKE – If recipe calls for dusting the pan with flour, use a little of the cake mix instead to avoid the white mess.
SALTY SOUP OR STEW – Add a cut up peeled potato to the pot. It will absorb the salt.
HARD BROWN SUGAR – Place a slice of apple in it to soften.
FRESH EGGS – To determine if an egg is fresh, imerse an egg in a pan of cool, salted water. If it floats sinks it is fresh. If it rises, throw it away.
CLEANING VASES & THERMOS BOTTLES – fill with water & drop in 2-4 alka-seltzer tablets & let sit for an hour or so.
ICY STEPS – In South Florida? It could happen… once - Mix Dawn Dish soap in warm water & pour it over the steps.
Silly Monkeys Playhouse has become an overnight success that some may call an Instant Icon.
We have needed something like this for a LONG time. Everyone knows Coconut Grove is an entertainment mecca with the new digital movie theater & abundance of restaurants. If you have ever just sat & watched, you may have noticed a constant stream of baby strollers & new families as well. Now there is a beautiful, safe & sanitary place where parents, grandparents & care-givers can take their young loved-ones. Let them crawl around on the floor without worry. Attendees must remove shoes when entering & the place is kept amazingly clean.
If you are new to Coconut Grove and a parent or just a new parent, you should visit Silly Monkeys Playhouse. It is a fusion of Music, Art, Discovery & Play directed exclusively at Newborns to 4-year olds. Accompanied by their parents, caregivers or nannies, the tykes lucky enough to visit Silly Monkeys Playhouse will have so much fun they won’t want to leave. Don’t worry, they can come back week-after-week or celebrate their Birthday party here. You won’t regret it.
Silly Monkeys Playhouse is located at 3310 Virginia (Between CocoWalk & The Fire Station).
