Whilst MSNBC plays in my morning background ritual nearly every day, they recently reported that April is historically an excellent month for the DOW averages with positive returns reported overwhelmingly a majority of the time throughout the years. Hmmm, wonder if that should be taken into consideration regarding some stock spring cleaning I had been planning? But I digress…while April may be a signal of Spring and beautiful things to come, it is also quite possibly one of the toughest months of the year on my personal budget.
Between personal taxes being due – should we do another reminder for that next week? - Or are most of my readers like my VERY prepared better half, having already completed that little daisy of a weekend (or month-long trudge, as the case may be) well before the deadline?
Getting back on track, as I was saying, before income tax deadlines, we also have the ever present property tax deadline looming on April 10th. If you have yet to make your payment, be sure to dig up your assessment from the bowels of your desk (where mine was anyway…) and get your payment mailed in so that it is postmarked by April 10th to be safe in avoiding late fees and penalties…because while the payment itself stings, there is nothing that I can’t stand more than tossing money away on things that could be avoided, like late fees and penalties!
